Blue Tit

How to buy

One of the advantages of traveling to the UK from America is that all of the common birds that frequent backyard bird feeders are, to me, terribly new and exciting. I fell in love with Blue Tits at first sight. Their round little bodies and constant motion remind me of common garden birds in the US like Chickadees and Lesser Goldfinches, but their amazing palette of vivid blue, pale blue, green, and acid yellow makes them more than unique and memorable.

This piece is all about the color. When I saw this bird on a lichen-covered branch, I loved how the bright yellows and golds of the lichen played off of the plumage of the bird.
