How to buy

Bee-Eaters are a fascinating group of birds, and as the name suggests, their primary diet consists of bees and other insects, most often taken on the wing. The European Bee-Eater has an especially wide geographic distribution amongst the genus, breeding in central Europe, northern and southern Africa, and western Asia, with year-round resident populations in southernmost Africa. I observed this particular bird in Kenya in 2014, so I can only imagine how shocking they must look in the English landscape.

My biggest interest in this study was playing with the rich color combination of blue, turquoise, yellow, rust, and green. All of these colors bleed into the abstract background, with the yellows in particular calling to mind the warm, sun-soaked landscape of Eastern Africa.
